Where each bag goes

The small bag goes under the seat in front of you, or in the overhead bin when you sit by an emergency exit. Hand baggage, handles and wheels included, goes in the overhead bin, and the cabin crew can’t lift it for you except in certain cases. A bag too big or too heavy has to be checked in for a fee.

On full flights KLM may ask you to check your hand baggage in at the gate for free, so keep medicines and other essentials in the small bag.

Checked bags

Standard and Flex tickets include one checked bag of up to 158 cm in length + width + height, handles and wheels included, and 23 kg. Extra bags are often cheaper added online than at the airport.
