At the gate or with your bags
Most of these airlines let you push the stroller to the gate and hand it over there. Allegiant brings a gate-checked stroller back to the gate or jet bridge, and Air Canada returns a small one at the aircraft door. American and Air Canada send big or non-folding strollers to the ticket counter instead.
Taking a stroller into the cabin
Frontier allows a stroller in the cabin when it fits the overhead bin. On easyJet it must be booked as a large cabin bag of no more than 56 x 45 x 25 cm.
Wagons, playpens and travel cots
American, Delta, Southwest and JetBlue count a playpen or pack and play as a regular bag. Alaska and Hawaiian carry a folding stroller-wagon made for children free if it’s under 90 linear inches and 35 pounds, and Breeze takes a folding wagon in place of a stroller. British Airways, easyJet, Ryanair and WestJet count a travel cot or playpen as one of their free baby items.
Before you hand it over
Some airlines limit what they pay for damage. Southwest carries strollers with a limited release of liability, and Sun Country and Breeze aren’t liable for one checked without a protective case: see car seat travel bags.
