Two ways to take the 10 kg bag
Within Europe, a booking that doesn’t include the 10 kg bag has two options. Book a 10 kg carry-on bag online, for a fee, and keep it in the overhead locker, or drop the bag off at the check-in desk or a bag drop kiosk free of charge and collect it from the carousel when you land.
Bring an unbooked 10 kg bag to the boarding gate and it goes in the hold for a fee, paid by phone with a QR code. When your booking includes the bag, you must take it on board.
Fares
- Saver: a small personal item; within Europe, a 10 kg carry-on bag is booked for a fee, or dropped off free at check-in.
- Plus, Advantage and AerSpace: a small personal item, a 10 kg carry-on bag and, within Europe, a 20 kg checked bag.
AerClub Silver, Platinum and Concierge members, Reward Flights, adults travelling with an infant and customers connecting to or from an Aer Lingus transatlantic flight have the 10 kg bag included too. On transatlantic flights the 10 kg bag goes on board, with no free check-in option.
Checked bags
No checked piece may weigh more than 32 kg (70 lb). Within Europe, every fare but Saver includes one 20 kg (44 lb) bag, and Saver fares pay for checked bags by weight, destination and where they’re booked.
On transatlantic flights, Smart and Flex fares include one 23 kg (50 lb) bag and Saver fares include none. The size limit is the same 158 cm (62 in) in total.
