TSA allows disposable cartridge razors and electric razors in a carry-on or a checked bag. Loose razor blades, and a safety razor with its blade in, go in a checked bag only.

Safety razors
A safety razor’s handle can go through the checkpoint once you’ve taken the blade out. Take it out before you reach security: TSA says its officers aren’t allowed to remove the blade for you. Pack the blades in your checked bag.
Straight razors
TSA’s list doesn’t name straight razors. A straight razor’s blade isn’t in a cartridge, so pack it in a checked bag, or ask AskTSA before you fly.
Packing blades in a checked bag
Sheathe or wrap anything sharp in a checked bag, so it can’t hurt the baggage handlers and inspectors who may open it.
Flying from the UK
The UK list (gov.uk, October 2026) allows disposable razors with fixed-cartridge blades, and electric shavers, in hand and hold luggage.
